launching from Uncle Louie\u2019s property (toward the end of the boat race scene there are boats also launching from Aunt Rosaleen\u2019s beach &#8211; you can see the newly built house (Overson\u2019s \/ now Hal\u2019s) and you can see Dad\u2019s cottage on the hill in the background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-contrast-3-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">I don\u2019t remember the race at all. &nbsp;Because Overson\u2019s wasn\u2019t built until about 1960, I\u2019m guessing it was early 60s. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-contrast-3-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019m guessing Dad took these scenes. &nbsp;Or maybe Chuck or Nick the scenes are longer and steadier than when we younger kids had the movie camera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-base-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">After the boat race, there is a long scene at an air show. &nbsp;All smaller and\/or homemade planes. &nbsp;I have no idea where or when. &nbsp;Perhaps Lewis University, which had an air field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-base-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">Or else the small airfield that was around 135 &amp; Cicero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-base-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019ve heard stories that mom\u2019s cousin &#8211; Eugene Veras- had a biplane, and he flew into that airport and took some of the Pater family up in it. \u00a0So maybe that\u2019s what the event is. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-base-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">Eugene also built an experimental airplane -called &nbsp;a Polywog because of it\u2019s shape &#8211; in the basement of his home in Missouri. &nbsp;Not sure if it ever flew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-contrast-3-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">The last part of the video is a long scene driving along a major river. &nbsp;I\u2019m guessing it is the Mississippi, and we are driving south along the Illinois border\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The first part of this is a hydro race on Paw Paw Lake &#8211;
