Vrtis"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-light-gray-background-color has-background has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Technically, this isn&#8217;t a Eulogy, but it is a beautiful tribute to one of my Uncles by one of his daughters-in-law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A Voice Forever Silent Speaks Through the Generations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><small>By <i>Deborah Faye Vrtis<\/i><br> Wife of William Charles Vrtis<\/small><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We drove 1100 miles<br>\nTo see him one last time<br>\nThe father of my husband<br>\nSuccumbed to the illness he could no longer fight<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He quietly died four days later<br>\nWith his beautiful bride by his bed<br>\nAs she held his hand and called his name<br>\nSobbing tears she\u2019ll forever shed<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The four brothers joined together<br>\nFrom around the world they came<br>\nTo say goodbye to him and bury their father<br>\nAnd to share each other\u2019s pain<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Along with the tears of sorrow<br>\nStories of days gone by were told<br>\nA bit of laughter to remember<br>\nA lot of love to hold<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The brothers and two grandsons carried him to his grave<br>\nTo lay beside dear, sweet Sue<br>\nOn a beautiful, sunny day<br>\nThey gave him one last salute<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The brothers have now gone home<br>\nEach went their separate way<br>\nTo bear their grief and to carry on<br>\nThe sons of a father great<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They are good men, these brothers<br>\nWho echo the heartbeat of Tom<br>\nThe kind of men who make this country great<br>\nQuick of mind and voices strong<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And with the strength that\u2019s in their blood<br>\nThey will keep his memory, values and tradition alive<br>\nThrough the stories\u2026 the Rosary\u2026 the flag\u2026 the hoska and poppy seed\u2026<br>\nAnd with love and tears and laughter, let the world go by<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Technically, this isn&#8217;t a Eulogy, but it is a beautiful tribute to one of my Uncles by one of his daughters-in-law.
