White Sauce/Cheese Sauce

Ingredients

__ 1-1/2 TBS. margarine (melted) or butter (melted) or 1 TBS. shortening (melted) or 1 TBS. oil (any kind)
__ 1-1/2 TBS. flour or mashed potato flakes or 2-1/4 tsp. cornstarch
__ 1 c. milk or light cream or 1 c. milk plus 3 TBS. powdered milk or powdered creamer
__ 1/4 to 1/2 c. shredded or grated cheese (any kind) (optional)

Directions

Stir in flour and other dry ingredients into melted margarine until smooth. Heat about 1 minute on high, stirring halfway through. Add milk. Heat mixture on high for 3 minutes, stirring after each minute. Add cheese immediately, stirring until smooth.
