Cookbook - Recipes Flavored Spread
Ingredients
__ 2 TBS. butter or margarine, softened, or soft cream cheese or salad dressing (such as Miracle Whip or mayonnaise)
For meats, vegetables, and breads, pick one of the following:
__ 1 or 2 TBS. bottled horseradish
__ 1 TBS. prepared mustard
__ 1 TBS. Parmesan cheese, grated
__ 2 TBS. cheese spread
__ 1 TBS. olives, finely chopped, drained, plus dash lemon juice
__ 1 TBS. chili sauce
__ 1 TBS. cocktail sauce
__ 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
__ 1/4 tsp. onion powder
__ 1/8 tsp. garlic powder plus 1/8 tsp. onion powder
__ 1/4 tsp. each parsley and tarragon or 1/2 tsp. parsley OR tarragon PLUS 1/4 tsp. of any two: chives or shallots or onion powder or garlic OR 1/2 tsp. of any one: shallots or chives or onion powder or garlic powder; dried or fresh and finely chopped
For breads, pancakes, waffles, and desserts, pick one of the following:
__ 1-1/2 TBS. confectioners' sugar plus 1 tsp. cinnamon, ground, or nutmeg, ground
__ 2 TBS. honey
__ 1/2 TBS. flavored syrup (such as fruit or maple)
Directions
Cream butter with other selection. Spread on warm toast, crackers, bread, rolls, etc. Or spread one of the first types on chicken, fish, turkey, or beef just before cooking or on vegetables immediately after cooking. This can be doubled as many times as you like as long as you keep the proportions about the same.
Makes about two tablespoons.
