Pie Crust Cookies

Ingredients

__ 1 TBS. softened butter or margarine
__ 1/2 c. flour
__ 1-1/2 TBS. cold water
__ Brown sugar, cinnamon sugar, chocolate syrup, honey, or icing (optional)
Icing Ingredients (optional)
__ 1/4 c. confectioners' sugar and/or chocolate drink mix powder
__ 1 TBS. water or milk
__ Few drops of flavoring (vanilla, almond, mint, orange, etc.) (optional)

Directions

Cut shortening and butter into flour with a fork until particles resemble coarse crumbs. Sprinkle water over mixture while stirring until dough is just moist enough to hold together. From into a ball. Flatten ball to 1/8-inch thickness. Cut out shapes with cookie cutters. Arrange in six-inch ring on microwave baking sheet or wax paper. Leave plain or sprinkle with brown sugar or cinnamon sugar. Microwave on high for 2 to 4 minutes or until dry and puffy, rotating after 2 minutes. If you left the cookies plain, you can drizzle honey, chocolate syrup, or icing on them. Plain cookies can also be used as a base for any of the saucy main dishes here.

Icing Directions

Combine all ingredients. If necessary, add more water or milk to give it the consistency of honey.
