Mike calls these "Sweet Little Old Lady" stories... I suspect that eventually they will need to become their own category...

Okay, I'm limping along the route, delivering mail door to door.

One of my "Sweet Little Old Ladies" is in a car being driven by her boyfriend/chauffuer. They stop, and the lady opens her door and holds out a piece of mail. "Mailman," she calls out, "can you take this letter for me?"

"Only if you say the magic word," I reply.

She thinks for a moment, and then smiles shyly, and says sweetly, "I love you."

Her boyfriend kind of snorts, but I laugh while I say, "Well, that's not what I was looking for, but it'll work just fine."

And I lean into the car and plant a kiss on her cheek.

She comments on my limp, which I attribute to an attempt to get sympathy, and I ask her for her blessing. I bow my head, and she touches my head, heart, and shoulders with an open palm, and she says "The Sign Of Cross" in Polish, cupping my chin with her hand as she says "Amen."
